The all-important shot list

As a wedding photographer, I feel that it's really important to have a list with me on any wedding day of the photos that the bride and groom would like taken. Most couples say to me before the big day that they don't really know what should be on this list so I make a point of meeting with each and every couple a few weeks before the day to talk through this list together. That way we both understand what photos need to be taken, how long it will take and I have a list to work from on the day so that nothing is missed. My assistant is also there to help organise the group shots and make sure all the little details are perfect, like necklaces being central and the dress looking perfect.

One of the biggest problems I face with regard to these group photos is couples wanting too many posed/group shots and therefore having their wedding day turn into a photo shoot. Although I work pretty fast and efficiently, spending a long time with the photos can be stressful and tiresome for you, the bride and groom, as well as your family and friends who want to share your special day with you.
